2. What is PM Surya Ghar Mufth Bijli Yojana?

Actually, a few months ago, PM Modi had announced this scheme, this is a solar panel scheme. The government said that under this scheme, rooftop solar panels will be installed on a total of one crore houses, a few days later it was revealed that the government will provide 300 units of electricity free of cost to each family every month. However, it is not clear whether this amount will be waived along with the electricity produced or the government is giving these many units free separately.

3. Will the bill really become zero?

Now let’s talk about how your bill will become zero. Actually, if you install a 3 kw solar plant, it will produce 300 units for you, in such a case your bill can be zero or very less. Solar panels can also produce 300 to 350 units of electricity every month, in such a case you can get up to 350 units of electricity for free.

If you use 400 units of electricity in a month and the 3KW solar plant installed by you produces 300 units, then it is impossible for your electricity bill to be zero, in such a case you will have to pay the bill for the remaining 100 units. To make the electricity bill zero, you will have to install a solar panel of more kilowatts. Only then your electricity bill will be zero and if the units produced from the solar plant remain, then you can sell the units to UPCL at Rs 4.64.

4. Solar panel will not be available for free

It is important to make it clear here that the government is not installing solar panels for free. According to PM Surya Ghar Mufth Bijli Yojana the  Uttarakhand government is providing subsidy of up to Rs 94,000 on 2 KW solar power plant and Rs 136,800 subsidy is being given on installing a 3 KW solar plant in which the central government will provide subsidy of Rs 85,800 and the state government will provide subsidy of Rs 51,000. The Uttarakhand government has kept the same subsidy from 3KW to 10KW.
